Elizabeth Baz, French soprano, is graduated in opera singing and drama studies from the Conservatoires de la Ville de Paris. She attended lessons and master-classes with famous artists : Martine Surais, Sophie Hervé, Marie-Ange Todorovitch, Alain Garichot, Maciej Pikulski and Jean-Marc Pont Marchesi. Fascinated by acting, she deepens her drama skills with Jöelle Vautier and then with the theater company Le Théâtre du Voyageur in Paris.

      In the field of the oratorio she interprets several masterpieces, in particular Beethoven’s Mass in C Major conducted by D. Rouits in the Opera de Massy , Gounod’s Gallia and Schubert’s Mirjiam’s Siegesgesang under the musical direction of P. Caillard, Mozart’s Requiem under the baton of J. Leroux, Dvo?ák’s Stabat Mater conducted by B.Poinderfert, Durante’s Lamentationes Jeremiae Prophetae under the direction of O. Holt, Mozart’s Litaniae de Venerabili Altaris Sacramento KV 243 conducted by J. Kaltenbach, as well as the roles of Hanne in Haydn’s Jahreszeiten and the Rose in Schumann’s Der Rose Pilgerfarht…  She participates in the creation of several contemporary oratorios among whom L’Amour de Marie-Madeleine and Que la nuit commence of the composer A. D’Ormesson just as Améria and Le Voyage d’Erydia composed by J. Rouquès.

          Elizabeth begins her opera career with the role of Maria in Bernstein’s West Side Story under the baton of A.-C. Brayer staged by Compagnie Brozzoni. She goes on with the roles of Frasquita in Carmen conducted by L. Mignon and Pamina in Mozart’s Zauberflöte. She embodies the role of Pamina for two artistic productions, one of which is conducted by J-A. Gendille. In 2007, Elizabeth makes her debut at the Opera de Lyon as Rowan in Britten’s work, The Little Sweep, under the direction of A. Woodbridge and staged by N. d’Introna. Recently she plays Pamprinée in Komives’s opera, Le Muet au Couvent directed by C. Dune. As for operetta, she enthusiastically appears in Offenbach’s repertoire such as Monsieur Choufleuri with the role of Madame Balandard under the direction of G. Harnois, and La Belle Hélène in the title role. She also sings Denise in Christiné’s composition Dédé, at the Théâtre Déjazet in Paris.

          In Berlin, she joins the company « Die Hauptstadtoper » and sings in german the roles of Susanna, Despina and Zerlina of Mozart’s latest operas : Le nozze di Figaro, Cosi Fan Tutte and Don Giovanni.

          In Germany she begins to be involved in staging as assistant director. She stages The Medium from the composer Menotti with the pianist and conductor Matthew Toogood. These great experiences leads her eventually to do a Master in staging and dramaturgy at the Nanterre University in Paris. Since she graduates in June 2017 she continues to sing while giving a new direction to her career as director.
